AMATEUR RADIO CLUB WEBSITE TERMS OF USE & COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
Governed by the Principles of The Amateur Radio Operator’s Code
Effective Date: August 2026
================================================================================
PREAMBLE & FOUNDATIONAL ETHICS
================================================================================
This website, digital portal, and connected online services are operated to serve the amateur radio community. By accessing or using this site, forums, logging facilities, and digital resources, all users and licensed operators agree to abide by these Terms of Use.
Our digital footprint reflects our conduct on the airwaves; therefore, this platform is governed directly by the principles articulated in The Radio Amateur’s Code (originally authored by Paul M. Segal, W9EEA, in 1928).
================================================================================
1. ALIGNMENT WITH THE RADIO AMATEUR’S CODE
================================================================================
All online interactions, forum posts, account registration details, and shared resources must reflect the six core tenets of the Amateur Radio Operator’s Code:
I. CONSIDERATE
Operators never knowingly use the website or forums in a way that diminishes the pleasure or utility for others. Contentious, aggressive, or disruptive online behavior is strictly prohibited.
II. LOYAL
Members offer loyalty, encouragement, and support to fellow amateurs, local clubs, and the national society (e.g., ARRL/IARU) representing the Radio Amateur service.
III. PROGRESSIVE
We foster modern, well-maintained digital tools, technical literacy, and accurate information. Science, radio theory, and constructive technical assistance are prioritized.
IV. FRIENDLY
Patience and kindness are extended to beginners, newly licensed operators, and visitors. Mentorship (“Elmering”) is a fundamental duty across all discussion boards.
V. BALANCED
Radio and web activities are conducted as a complement to, rather than a detriment to, home, family, school, workplace, and civic responsibilities.
VI. PATRIOTIC / CIVIC-MINDED
Our station, knowledge, and digital communications stand ready at all times to serve our local community and country in times of emergency or public need.
================================================================================
2. USER ACCOUNTS & CALLSIGN IDENTIFICATION
================================================================================
• Authenticity: Licensed amateur radio operators are encouraged to register accounts using their official FCC/national regulatory body callsign. Impersonating another licensee, official, or administrator will result in immediate termination of account privileges.
• Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities conducted through your user account.
================================================================================
3. CONDUCT STANDARDS & FORUM POLICY
================================================================================
To preserve a welcoming environment aligned with amateur radio traditions, users agree NOT to engage in:
1. Profanity & Vulgarity: The use of obscene language, adult content, or offensive imagery is strictly forbidden (mirroring Part 97 regulations governing the airwaves).
2. Political & Commercial Solicitation: Non-amateur commercial advertising, spam, or political debates unrelated to spectrum management and amateur radio legislation are prohibited.
3. Harassment & Malicious Behavior: Personal attacks, flame wars, doxxing, or defamatory statements targeting any individual or organization are grounds for banishment.
4. Unlawful Activity: Uploading copyrighted material without authorization, distribution of malicious software, or facilitating illegal RF transmissions.
================================================================================
4. REPEATERS, LOGGING, AND TECHNICAL DATA
================================================================================
Information made available on this site—including repeater frequencies, CTCSS tones, digital node IDs, and logging databases—is provided for educational and operational convenience. Users agree not to scrape, hoard, or misuse operational data for commercial exploitation or malicious RF interference.
[ENFORCEMENT & ADMINISTRATION]
Site administrators and moderators reserve the right to edit, move, or remove any content, or suspend any account that violates these Terms of Use or conflicts with the spirit of the Amateur Radio Operator’s Code.
================================================================================
5. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES & LIABILITY
================================================================================
This website and all published technical information, schematics, and propagation charts are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. The club assumes no liability for hardware damage, regulatory infractions, or injuries resulting from reliance on user-submitted content or technical guides.
